Giving Thanks

60,000 words later…

I’ve been plugging away at Rose City Knights for the last few months as well as finishing off a freelance gig. In that time, I’ve written nearly 60,000 words to build the setting and some rules to really give the setting teeth in Fate. There’s a lot to get into and that’ll be making its way to the blog as soon as I figure how best to present the material and finish up some of the project for at least proofing by a few people.

One of the biggest components has been creating a robust system for Cliques. These are groups that have a lot of sway, but they’re background pieces as much as they are active players in the world. Their purpose is to pursue goals within their spheres of influence but that’s also tested by how much they’re willing to buck the system and square off against the characters and other powerful Cliques looking to achieve their own ends.

There’s some intrigue as well as ways for “concerned” citizens to annoy the heroes or provide comic relief.

One More Out the Door

One of the two projects I was working on are finished. My goal is to have the undisclosed NDA project completed by 4/1 and turned in for the publisher so we can walk in the final details before that one is ready to go to press.

I’m surprised a bit by how hard I got hit by whatever nasty cold is going around as it took me a week to catch up on finish up the completed project and work for my day job.

Once project #2 is turned in, I’ll be free to continue work on other parts on the blog as well as some projects that have languished for far too long.

Fruition in Silence

Several things have gone on in the last two months that prevented me from doing a whole lot with the blog or even having the time to tell anyone about it. Well, that’s changing as some of what I’ve been working on over the past year is starting to roll out. Other pieces are close to being completed and out the door so I’ll have more time to work on keeping my readers in the loop.

If that weren’t enough, I’ve also dusted off some other work that’s been sitting on various hard drives for close to 25 years.

Probably the most important is the release of Interface Zero 2.0 using the Starfinder rules system.
